The Grand Korea Leisure Company Limited has announced further casino closures.

According to reports, South Korean casino operator Grand Korea Leisure Company Limited has prolonged the interim suspension of its three Seven Luck Casino-branded locations until at least January 4. The closures are purportedly due to the coronavirus.

After being closed for five weeks because of stricter social distance and public safety protocols, the Seoul-based company's foreigner-only casinos at the Millennium Hilton Seoul, the Intercontinental Seoul Coex, and the Lotte Hotel Busan are set to reopen later today, according to a report from GGRAsia. The source explained that the new regulations, which restrict restaurant hours and ban gatherings of more than 100 individuals, went into effect on November 24.

Expensive proclamation:

According to a document made on Monday, Grand Korea Leisure Company Limited said that the shutdowns will continue because "the upgrade to Level 2.5 in the metropolitan area" of Seoul and "the maintenance of Level 2" procedures in Busan necessitated it. The subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organisation reportedly also stated that the move would result in a loss of around $2.19 million in sales, bringing the total loss for the time affected by the coronavirus to nearly $14.62 million.

Nationalist anxiety:

Paradise Company Limited, another South Korean casino giant, reportedly announced that it would be delaying the reopening of its modest casino within the five-star Grand Walkerhill Seoul hotel by an additional six days due to the same government-mandated anti-coronavirus protocols. After average daily infection rates in the Seoul metropolitan area soared beyond 175 on December 15, the government outlawed public gatherings of more than four individuals for the Christmas and New Year holidays, prompting the temporary closure of this institution.

Extreme growth:

A total of 859 fatalities, including 40 only yesterday, have been attributed to the highly contagious coronavirus epidemic in South Korea, one of the first countries to be affected. There are presently 17,593 instances of the potentially fatal virus being treated in the country, a significant increase from the 623 cases being treated in mid-August before a second wave of infections appeared.
