Kambi Group signs a new sports betting deal in Ontario

Great Canadian Entertainment, a prestigious Canadian casino operator, and Kambi Group, a pioneer in online wagering technology, have signed a multi-year agreement for Kambi Group to offer its retail sportsbetting platform.

In a press statement issued on Thursday, the Malta-based company said that it has reached an agreement with Great Canadian Entertainment to supply "its leading on-property sportsbook" to 10 of the company's casinos in Ontario. The pioneer also said that its newest partner will have access to self-service betting kiosks with "fully configurable digital signage functionality" as a result of the partnership.

Wider waistline:

Kambi Group has recently signed a deal that could see it spend up to €78.1 million ($77.8 million) to acquire award-winning front-end technologies specialist Shape Games, with the intention of capitalising on its already dominant position in the nascent Canadian sportsbetting market. In addition, the firm mentioned that more than 40 iGaming operators across 17 different states in North America use its iGaming innovations.

Kambi Group CEO Kristian Nylen announced in a press release that his company will open sportsbooks at all of Ontario's casinos, including the newest casino in the province, the 330,000-square-foot Pickering Casino Resort. The seasoned individual also mentioned that this agreement follows his firm's recent signing of a similar deal with Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment about the Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara locations in Ontario.
